What purpose/function did skin-tags once serve, in early humans?

Food for the little ones
I think we could have been pull toys before we evolved. The skin tags are just the vestigial pulls. If the human race survives another millenium, they’ll probably disappear.
They gave washing instructions such as current clothing tags do
I think they used them for teething babbies back in the caveman days. Let the kid suckle on one of those big chunky skin tags and he’ll shut right up.
On a side note, I ripped one of mine off the other day and I think I angered it. It looks like 4 more are growing back in its place.

in early man “A” skin tab was inserted in fleshy slot “B”
They were used by the babies as pacifiers.
Skin Tags made it easier for leopards to grab them for lunch. Sort of like ‘Pull Tab Here’ on pudding containers.
